School started a week ago. Tutorials offically starts this week. It's been very good so far. Find myself getting more proactive & enthusiastic in school. It's good. Sadly, I didn't exactly prepare for school. But it started on a good note which I'm really really glad & thankful for. The tutors & lecturers are friendly too. THANKFULLY!

It's been a long time since I last sang hymns during worships. Been at Teens' Worship & Evening Worship. Songs sang tend to be less majestic. Heard several hymns over the cd player in the car just now. Thought "Be Thou My Vision" is an appropriate hymn/a song to keep with me throughout this semester. :)

I guess what matters most is the heart. The humble heart to do everything.

I'm a lousy stupid pig who doesn't know how to take care of myself, who is dependent on people. That's why.

Go ahead. Do what you want. It doesn't matter to you anyway. You are worse than I thought. Shoo... All the more I wish you will disappear from my sight.

The more I feel this way, the more I drift away.
It's good for me.

:: Junior Camp Vespers ::

As I read Chris's email & looked at the Junior Camp's vespers list, I'm a little worried. I don't know what to expect and how to lead in the vespers. Just plainly what to say. Not too worried about other details, cos the Lord will guide.

Time to prepare for camp & ask about leading vespers. :\

:: Lumos ::

Lumos (from the Harry Potter Series): "Lumen" is Latin for "light" and "luminous" means "emitting light" in English. I see the light. From the Lord.

We often hear the Word of God in church and are challenged. But how many of us have actually taken critical steps to practise what we've heard and being challenged of? Planning what to do & doing it, is responding. It means to go beyond feeling challenged by the Word.

As I listened to people talking today, I'm learning the lesson of the untamable tongue again. I was affected by what these people had to say. I tell you, one should beware of the tongue.

"Even so the tongue is a little member and boasts great things. See how great a forest a little fire kindles! And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity. The tongue is so set among our members that it defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire by hell... But no man can tame the tongue. It is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. With it we bless our God and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in the similitude of God. Out of the same mouth proceed blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not to be so." ~ James 3:5-6,8-10 ~

I believe that how you speak & conduct yourselves, reflects your faith & your regard for God. If faith & God matters to you, you would want to speak & conduct yourselves, reflecting the image of God. Christ would definitely be the best example to follow. Simple, would Christ speak & conduct the way you did? If not, it's time to do something about it.

This couple of months, the Lord has opened my eyes to see & given me understanding to situations & problems. I wasn't expecting the change and I didn't think I could handle without the Lord's guidance in this. I really honour & praise Him because, if He had not enlightened me, I would be in depression & know not what to do. I'm thankful I responded well. He has laid upon my heart to do certain things. I will learn to do my part.

It took me exactly 2 weeks to realise that I used the wrong number. Silly stupid me. But I guess it wouldn't make any difference. The reason is obvious.

:: Leadership ::

Love: Love for the Lord; the church; the people.

Appreciate: Express our appreciation for everything.
Daring: Have the courage to take on greater tasks and challenges.

Realistic: Think of what we have. Is it suitable for us? Is it attainable?
Seeking: Seek a higher level. Push ourselves upwards not downwards.

Inspiration: Take on the challenge to inspire others.

Hope this encourages some of you as you continue to serve in Teens' Worship and take up the challenge of serving as a Junior Officer in Junior Camp. :)

Refreshed. Renewed. Resolved. A need to be more conscious of leading a more spirit-filled Christian life. To me, it means to be wise at making all decisions, to be sensitive to people, to be observant to the surrounding. All in all, it means to do what Jesus would do. To reflect the image of Him in my life.

I don't want to live a bimboic life. I don't want to be a silly fool, or "borh borh booooooooooorrhhh" or Empress Dowager.

This would be a different style of writing in my blog entries. Since You-Know-Who is to be forgotten, I will stop writing about it.

By the way, there's this toy called floonies in australia. You know... floon. I'm surprised that the name I came up for You-Know-Who is actually the name of this toy.

Sending greetings from down under.

Was at south perth from tuesday to thursday. So didnt get to come online & blog. It was a long car ride down south. 240km thereabt. 4-5 hour ride. Was the photographer. Had things to look at. Animals like sheep, cows, kangaroos (dead & alive) & lots of vineyards. Went to Ngligli limestone cave which was 40m underground. It was quite a sight 'cause all the geography lessons came to mind. Went to Cape Naturaliste lighthouse. Nice. Reminded of being a lighthouse to the world. Gerald wrote on the guestbook "We are inspired to be light to all men" (something along that line). Oh, and I wrote "It rocks" for the limestone cave. Ddaarrhh, I can't possibly write "It stones" right? :P Ok, not very funny.

Before I left south perth, went to Margaret's River mouth. Ya, the part of the river where it leads/opens to the sea/ocean. The wind was so freezingly cold that I had a headache. Ya, brain freeze.

Since then, I have been on screen-saver mode. Been hibernating too. Slept my thursday away. Slept almost the whole day. In the car and at my 2nd sis's apartment. Hee. Must be the weather. Winter. Rain. Cold. Not freezing in Perth city though. Just some shivers at times.

Went shopping abit. Oh hee, went around the bars. Been craving for Singapore/Asian food. Really prefer Singapore and its stuff. This trip makes me appreciate Singapore more. I wouldn't survive staying in Perth or any part of Australia. Not that Australia is bad. I just can't take the slower and laid-back lifestyle here although I'm quite slack back home. I can't adjust. Know what? The sky is dark by 6pm here, just like 8pm in Singapore. Longer winter nights. Just for that, I find it hard to adjust.

Met up with Ruth. Nice catching up alittle. She's craving for juicy gossips from S'pore. Hee, but I have none for her. Mich, you can do all the gossiping with her when you are here in July. :P

What's more? Went to the leadership retreat. Find it refreshing to listen to Pastor & meet up with Perth brethrens. Pastor was speaking of IPC, Vic Park, where they have come a long way of 10 years building up the foundation of the church (its doctrine, distinctives..) and for the next 10 years, to develop and to expand the work in the church, of course, with its new premises in the new future. However, it starts with taking heed of yourself and then taking heed of your flocks (leadership). Pastor was sharing from Acts 20, about how Paul founded the churches, teached & preached & builded up and further more exhorted. He also talked abt how he followed the example of Paul in Acts 20, especially towards the church in Perth. :) It was interesting, knowing how the Perth church came abt & are growing. Oh, I find Auntie Christine (Ben, Jaz & Ken Chan's mom) very motherly and hospitable. I like her. :)

Okey, enough of blogging. Time to sleep. Going Fremantle for shopping & fish & chips. But sheesh... I've only bought 2 items. didn't buy much cos mostly winter wear lah... will try to find some stuff for you guys. :)
