decided to blog while waiting for my timetable to appear on the screen.
sigh. have been on the comp for the past 20 mins refreshing the screen & stuff & my timetable is still nowhere to be found.
apparently it said "no timetable found for Lam Hui Min". Haha! If this is for real....
c'mon quick! i wanna see my timetable.. dying to see it!

Gid has been appearing in my dreams... quite scary! I think it's the 3rd time this week.

I choose to focus on the Lord, doing His will and I know He'll ultimately bless me with what He thinks is best for me. :)

Faith

Taken this extract from the book "The Way of Excellence - Faith" by Ray Pritchard.

What is faith? In the big decisions of life, faith is not waiting for 100-percent certainty. Faith is wavering between belief and unbelief, doubt and assurance, hope and despair, and finally acting on the belief part. Many people think "living by faith" means staying in the "belief" column until you get certainty. But that seldom happens. That's not "living by faith"; That's "stalling by faith." Living by faith means taking a step of faith, however small, however halting, however unsure of yourself may be.

Teacher Joanna gave me this book on my baptism. :) It's a simple and short book to read. It uses illustration & extracts of people's lives to explain what faith is. It's interesting... I'm only half way through my book. Think i can finish really soon. :)

Here's another extract that encourages & reassures my thoughts. Mich, if you are reading, you know what I mean and it's for u too. :)

Sometimes answers to our prayers are delayed because we need to grow deeper before God can say yes. That means trusting that GOd knows best and His timing is perfect. Sometimes it is better for God to say no to a legitimate prayer request so He might say yes to something better for us. Yet we don't usually see things in this perspective until much later - months or years down the road.

Mich, I'm sure the Lord has something better in store for us. :) Let's just focus on the Lord so much more and grow, ya? :)

i thought i was beginning to understand you little by little... but am i really understanding you or am i just having illusions of what you are...?

when can we be right in our approach of faith, and that includes having sensitivity to whatever that's around us?

i'm bothered... although camp has just ended and baptism is a week away. Is that what it is supposed to be?

So fast. It's Friday already and YC is starting on sunday. I am really looking forward. It's a time where I can be in church 24/6, oblivious to the world out there, not even tv serials. Heh heh. I just hope that my flu will go away by tmr. I have flu for a week already.

Batam Trip

The trip to batam was good! It was a 45-minute ferry ride from WTC (Harbourfront) to Batam (Waterfront). We left Singapore for Batam at 8.50am.



It was a nice ferry ride. Wonderful weather. Heh heh, I dozed off on the ferry. Was feeling lethargic cos I wasnt feeling well.



Indonesia time: 8.40am. Indonesia time is one hour earlier than Singapore's.

When we reached the pier and went through the immigration procedures, there was a guy from the hotel waiting to bring us to the hotel. It was a small bus that took just the 5 of us. We stayed in Harris Resort. It was just a 3-minute ride from the pier.



The first thing we did after we settled down was to do water sports. The facilities was just beside the hotel. We did parasailing first. I was hesitant to try cos I think I have fear of heights. At that instant, I felt I was on Fear Factor show, trying to overcome by fear as well as trying to win that US $50,000. Haha! I did with Juli!



When I got up there, it was fanastic. It was a beautiful sight, viewing from the top. I don't mind trying out it again. This time, on my own.



After parasailing, we went on banana boat.



Ivy & I didn't go on the banana boat cos Ivy didn't bring swimming costume and I was down with a flu. Might just make it worse if I did. Another thing was that I didn't want to get capsized. Do you know that you can plan to get capsized... meaning it's intentional?



of course, they were rescued.

After the water sports, we went back to our hotel to get changed. Wet la... We did go-karting after that. It was super fun! But I had hard time controlling the steering wheel. I had muscle ache the next day. Oh, and my legs weren't long enough to step on the acclerator & brake. I had to sit in a weird position just to do so.



In the afternoon, the rest went for lunch and did shopping. But I had to stay in the hotel room, resting. I was running a fever, felt really groggy.

Oh, I managed to watch 3 movies in the hotel room. The Others, Terminator 3 & A Beautiful Mind. Heh heh.

Oh, We managed to watch the last episode of Holland V in Batam. Heh heh! Lousy ending. So abrupt and weird..... just like Smallville. Grrgh!

Anyway, we went to one of the restaurants out of the hotel for dinner. Oh, btw, we get chauffered around by the small bus. It was one of the special privileges for Harris Resort customers.



We had tom yam soup, black pepper crab, deer meat, grouper, kai lan, hot plate tou fu for dinner. Dinner was not bad, just that it was rather salty to our taste. Juli had teh susu for drink... you know, usually teh susu is rather brown in colour right? In batam, it was white. Too much condensed milk... very sweet!! Juli didn't finish it in the end.

After dinner, we bummed in the hotel room. Watched movies and tv shows.

Next day, we went to play pool, bowling and swimming. After that we checked out... Had lunch on the ferry, some fried kway teow bought from the food stall @ the pier. And we made our way back to Singapore.

Juli and I went to church straight after that. I was glad being in church.... :P



Oh oh, must tell you... Juli & I love the sofa @ Harris.
