:: Special Challenges ::
Pastor set a challenge to the Youth leaders today - to be part of the YPG committee. A week or two ago, Gerald kor, Ern & I were talking about the reasons for the two of them to move on to YAG. Gerald kor mentioned about this possibility that Pastor would ask the Youth leaders to be part of YPG committee. Not that he heard it from Pastor, but he reckoned the possibility. It was in my mind... but I never thought Pastor would set that challenge so soon. I would expect a year or two before he would ask us to.
Now that Pastor has raised up this challenge. I'm more than willing to accept the opportunity to do my part in YPG. This is nothing glamorous. It doesn't set us different from any one else in YPG. Even if we aren't called to be, there has always been a need for us to set the example to the younger ones, to play a part in growing with them. It is just that with this opportunity, we can do more & beyond.
It's not the things you not do that makes you different. It's your faith that makes the difference. (quoted from Chris @ YPG)
How has my faith made the difference? I have always thought that the things I intentionally chose not to do, makes me different. I guess in a way, it does... but faith making the difference involves impacting lives. Tell me, have my faith impacted you?
It's different between understanding what you heard & believing it. (quoted from Alvin @ YPG)
Not that I don't know that there's a difference. But it reminded me again. It made me questioned myself all over again if I have only been understanding what I've heard from all the church meetings I go to. Do I actually believe what I hear? I'm dealing with this issue of thinking deeper. I made a "Responses" column in my church notebook & at each church meeting, I'm supposed to write down my thoughts or responses I make. I hope that facilitates me to think deeper.
Feeling tired already? (quoted from Ai-Leen)
It's a privilege to do actions ok.... (quoted from Ben Tan)
I told Teacher Ai-Leen that I'm not singing for anniversary this time round. I'm taking a break from choir. Not that choir has been a chore all these while, in fact I have always enjoyed singing. It's a way for me to express myself to the Lord and to people. I'm taking this break because I sensed a tinge of tiredness in me. Not the tiredness in singing but a tiredness in being amidst people. Don't mind me saying... I feel that I can't keep up with hyper-ness of the younger ones. I think I feel abit breathless (not literally). Perhaps I'm getting old...
